For me, engineering embodies a profound sense of service – service to the community and the power to transform visions into reality. This is precisely why working on library projects holds a special place in my heart. Libraries evoke a flood of personal nostalgia; yet beyond that, each area is designed with a specific purpose to meet the public’s needs and provide access to resources and education that enhance lives.

One such project is the renovation of the Carmel Clay Public Library, a venture that marked my first steel design. Collaborating closely with the architect, our task was to ensure that the building’s structural framework harmoniously aligned with the intent of each space. Given that each area was meticulously crafted with a distinct purpose in mind, the synergy between thoughtful structure and purposeful design was essential. Libraries are inherently unique, and this proved to be a great learning experience in steel detailing. However, it extended beyond just design; it was an endeavor that had a profound sense of meaning. The awareness that I was shaping spaces meant to cater to the community in specific ways, whether nurturing tranquility or delineating a classroom, created a much deeper significance. During construction, my site visits were not only about confirming the steel was being erected as required but also witnessing those meticulously planned spaces from paper materialize into tangible spaces. This, in essence, is the magic of engineering.

CE Solutions provides an ideal firm for this impactful work. Additionally, the people here are not just driven by their professional passion, but they are great teachers and encouraging mentors. I interviewed with many firms when looking for my first consulting position, yet the welcoming environment of this office stood out immediately. This atmosphere has proven to be an invaluable place to learn the profession. They are intentional about allowing me the opportunities that ignite my own passion and enables me to continually grow.
