Long before CE Solutions was founded, Steve Osborn and I would talk about his vision for starting his own company. When he eventually made that vision a reality, I joined him at CE Solutions in 2003. What drew me in was the type of company he set out to build—one with a flexible, nontraditional work environment and a strong sense of family. I also liked the idea of working at a consulting engineering firm where I could collaborate across different clients and project types.

Structural engineering appeals to me because it applies science to something you can actually see. I’ve always enjoyed breaking down complex concepts and making them easier to understand, and I try to approach each project with hard work, integrity, and an eye for context.

A big part of my professional growth comes from working alongside others, whether it’s inside the office or out in the field. I enjoy teaming up with specialists, architects, and other engineers to exchange ideas that improve the design process and lead to better outcomes.

I’m originally from Michigan, so I still root for the Lions and the Tigers—but I’m also a loyal fan of the Colts and proud of my alma mater, Purdue University.
