Carrie Walden loves the relationship aspect of her work, and she’s inspired by the purpose of the profession. “Civil engineering is important to the community and to people,” she says. “When I take on a job, I’m inspired to do it well and do it right.”

Carrie’s passion for the profession is evident in her efforts to teach future generations about engineering and how she approaches her project work. Skilled in organization and communication, she designs solutions and effectively coordinates schedules and budgets, all while building relationships with her team members throughout the process.

As the first person Steve hired, one of Carrie’s earliest CE Solutions memories is noticing Steve wasn’t wearing shoes while working at his desk. “Although I didn't point it out at the time, I loved the idea! Steve now knows about my observation and laughs about our ‘no shoes policy,’” Carrie says. That relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to work with someone who enjoyed his profession were just some of the reasons she joined CE Solutions in 2001.

In addition to spending time with her family, Carrie enjoys being outdoors, chatting and getting together with friends, helping others, camping, visiting the ocean and hiking.
