aurora schmidt // intern
I joined CE Solutions as an engineering intern to assist with project modeling, editing drawings, and other tasks around the office. I really enjoy the wide range of projects I have been helping with and the differences in modeling each of them. Growing up, I was fixated on the sustainable design of buildings and civil infrastructure, which led me to major in civil engineering. After completing an internship with a construction management company last summer, I decided to dive deeper into the design and modeling side of the field.
Since starting my internship here, I have learned more about the behind-the-scenes decisions that go into structural design and the importance of communication between each project's coordinators and our engineers. CE Solutions holds true to its family values, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of it. Coming from a smaller college, I appreciate the community that this company has created and the care we show for each other.
I am a rising junior at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology pursuing a major in Civil Engineering with minors in Sustainability and Materials Science and Engineering. At Rose, I am also a member of the varsity volleyball team, Delta Delta Delta, our chapter of ASCE, and recently joined the student admissions team. My plan after graduation is to start a career in structural engineering with a focus on sustainable design and using eco-friendly materials in civil infrastructure.
