Steven P. Osborn, P.E., S.E.
President
Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering 1978
In his first two decades as a structural engineer with large, multi-disciplined firms, Steve Osborn gained a wealth of experience on noteworthy projects like downtown Indianapolis’ $300 million Circle Center Mall and the $600 million United Airlines Indianapolis Maintenance Center. As founder and President of CE Solutions, Steve has applied the skills he derived working on complex, large-scale projects toward developing creative solutions to unique projects, both large and small. Numerous engineering awards illustrate his talent.
Steve actively contributes his talents toward enhancing the profession. For example, through leadership positions in professional organizations, he has assisted the State of Indiana with building code provisions and professional service selection procedures and educated practitioners about seismic restraint design of mechanical, electrical, and fire sprinkler systems. Since the 1986 inception of the Civil Engineering Professional Development Seminar cosponsored by Purdue University’s School of Civil Engineering and the Indiana Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Steve has been active in this continuing education program.

John D. Taylor, P.E.
Associate
Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering 1993
Encompassing complex structural analysis and design, JD’s project experience includes many superlatives — headquarters for a high-profile fire station; additions, renovations and new construction of educational buildings and signature venues; numerous municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities; the first Catholic high school built in Central Indiana in decades and the largest building in the State of Wyoming. The latter is a 1.5 million-square-foot regional distribution center, one of dozens of mega-centers for which JD has provided structural engineering design services since 2000. An active contributor of his time and talents to several engineering organizations, JD has been involved since 1995 as a planner and moderator for the annual Civil Engineering Professional Development Seminar cosponsored by Purdue University’s School of Civil Engineering and the Indiana Section of the ASCE.

Carrie L. Walden, P.E.
Project Manager
Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering 2001
Carrie is particularly skilled in analysis and design. On the job site, her keen perception helps her identify built conditions that vary from design intent and ways to resolve issues. For renovation projects, she applies her insight into how load-bearing walls can be removed or structures modified to meet new functional uses. When investigating damaged structures, she is adept in pinpointing the cause of failure, distress, or deterioration and in devising a pragmatic solution. An organized, effective communicator with attention to detail, Carrie is a superb project manager. She coordinates plans, schedules, and budgets with architects, owners, subconsultants, and other team members while simultaneously handling projects ranging from a 140-acre private estate to a non-profit organization’s pre-school facility to repairing a high school weight room floor.
